Amazon wants to be the king of AI cloud computing and become the first $1 trillion revenue business. But to do that it will have to continue on its capex spending spree, its CEO said Thursday
Amazon's CEO stated Thursday that Amazon aims for AWS to become a $1 trillion revenue business and the leader in AI cloud computing. Achieving this goal will require the company to continue its heavy capital expenditure spending spree.
Why it matters: The company's sustained high capital expenditure is a necessary step to achieve its strategic goal of dominating the AI cloud computing market and reaching $1 trillion in revenue.
Andy Jassy has made it known that he believes AWS can be a trillion-dollar revenue business. During Amazon's quarterly earnings call on Thursday, he repeated this ambition
"What we're building at Amazon is unlike anything that's ever been seen before. There has never been a business with a trillion dollars of annual revenue," he said
